The Victoria Luxury Accommodation in Port Fairy
Although established in the 1840’s as Belfast, the town was known as Port Fairy from the time the sealer Captain James Wishart and his cutter “Fairy”, sheltered in the bay in 1827
and explored the Moyne River on which the town stands today.

The rambling, salty atmosphere of a fishing port mingles with
the elegance of 50 historic buildings classified by the
National Trust. Mills Cottage, built before Melbourne was
settled, was the residence of Captain John Mills, the first
Harbour Master, is said to be Victoria’s oldest home.

The old Caledonian Inn, built in 1840s is among Victoria’s
oldest pubs. St John’s church was intended as the western Victorian cathedral when build in the 1850s.

Port Fairy features an abundant array of activities, a plentiful amount of fine dining, award winning restaurants, cafes, boutique-style shopping, Art Galleries, Music & Folk Festivals and over 50 National Trust classified buildings.

Port Fairy retains most of it’s original heritage, and you will
be delighted just to walk around the township and soak up
the old world charm.
